So, what is AndrewsGumWorld?
Well, over the last 15 years, I’ve been handing out gum, one stick at a time, around the world to everyone from high school and university students to concert-goers to even Board of Trustees members (I have additional job responsibilities beyond being Gum Guy; thus the board meetings, and no end of committees…).
All of this, as you might guess, has made me think a whole lot about gum….
Although, I’ll confess that much of my thinking about gum revolved largely around the issue of whether I could get enough Wrigley™ PlenTPaks™ (or now, the Slim Pack™) for the next time and place I passed out gum.
I realize, of course, that there is literally a whole world of gum out there (I’ve got bowls of the stuff from countries I’ve visited), so, in turn, I’ve decided that this blog can best honor the world of gum by taking it on, including intriguing and funny (and occasionally odd) gum commercials from around the world, current news and research about gum (including, every once in a while, the high finance part of running a gum corporation), no small array of chewing gum images from now and everywhere (and years gone by) — including the phenomena of gum trees and walls — and, significantly, the environmental impact of discarded chewing gum on the streets and byways of the world — Britain in particular (and the brave new world of gum recycling and clean-up techniques that have been inspired to help address and resolve that problem).
Incidentally, AndrewsGumWorld is authored by Gum Guy of Andrews University.
