App Skatepark is just like “High School Musical: Get in the Picture” (only without Baily crying)

The Watauga Democrat, issuing from a beautiful place in Appalachia and North Carolina, issued an update on some new guidelines for Watauga County’s Appalachian Skatepark to “ensure the facility stays safe,” and which go into effect today.

Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Poulos says that the rules grew out of studying other skate parks and finding out how they assured a better recreational experience. Some of the guidelines include approved helmets, knee and elbow pads, and there are also stipulations about use of the parking lot, and avoiding profanity and fighting.

However, just like the “High School Musical: Get in the Picture” reality television show competition, there’s also no place for gum, as the article reports:

Food, drinks, glass containers….and chewing gum are prohibited inside the skate park, and graffiti or other property defacement could result in legal action to recoup repair costs. The signed waiver releases Watauga County from any medical or legal claims.
